Regulus
(Alpha Leonis)
Regulus is the brightest star in the constellation Leo, and one of the brightest stars in the sky, at 77.5 light years away from Earth. Regulus is a multi-star and is composed of four stars, split into two systems.
Regulus A and B are a blue-white main sequence star.
Regulus C and D are a white dwarf (have not been officially classified.)
The polar regions of Regulus are 7,000x times hotter than the Sun's core!
