Pollux
(Beta Geminorum)
Pollux is a star in the northern part of the constellation, Gemini. It is an evolved giant star with an orange hue. At an apparent visual magnitude of 1.1, it is the brightest star in the constellation, Gemini.
It is about 33.78 light years away from the sun.
Recently in 2006, an extrasolar planet was observed orbiting Pollux.
